Do we need to withdraw H1-b and lca after getting the GC. My attorney says we must do this as this is a serperate process.
 
H1 is employer's, so the employer can only do it. Most employers don't care about withdrawing it- it does not matter to them- you should inform them anyway.

I think that greedy bastard just wants to get some more money for writing a letter.

I-485 is Adjust of Status, it means that your H1 status will be changed to Permanent Resident status. So I don't see no need for H1 withdrawal.
 
Slacker, well said! Why should we tell them to revoke our H-1B once green card is approved. how knows for some reason we have to go back to that.

USCIS should be on the same page and if after 9/11 they have streamlined their processes then it should automatically trigger for cancellation of H-1B.

I think when we go for stamping and we provide with H-1B/I-94 then they revoke at that time. For people without H-1B/ they give EAD/I-94.
