Will your job move to India? (The Hot News today on www.MSN.com home Page)

Intereseting Perspective...

But it doesn't present the whole picture. Earlier, there were doomsayers when the manufacturing jobs were being outsourced, but the US expereiced longest economic expansion is post war era.
Some of these articles are being published mostly from rating purposes.

Guys,
The global economy is going through a wealth redistribution with developed country losing wealth and developing country gaining wealth.

Corporate America, who always believes in quick fix, wants to cut cost and hence shipping thousands of jobs to other cheap countries leaving people unemployed here in USA. In the long run consumer spending will fall and hence Corporate America will start crying again.

US Companies are trying to cut the tree they are sitting on.

Agree?

No way

The current total outsourced jobs are 2% of total US IT industry.
The most it can go is about 5%-10%.

The jobs are going to Irland, Island , china,India, phillipines .

abhi123, you got it wrong. When the jobs are outsourced, the goods are manufactured with a less cost putting more money in the pockets of people. This in turn pumps more money in the economy and creates more jobs. That is what happened when manufacturing was shifted.

frantic,
Tomorrow jobs will shift out of India and other cheap countries to cheaper countries like Russia, Poland etc leaving Indian people with more moeny in their pockets to buy things..right?

What would you say when jobs start exporting out of India?

abhi123 - I agree with you.

How will people buy "cheap stuff" when they do not have jobs and money? There will be poor offtake of goods and ultimately corporate America will suffer. I think it is already happenning. See today's economic reports.

I hate getting personal, still I would have to say that frantic's logic reflect's that of guru's of India software companies who are exploiting Indian engineers to make profit.

Keep in mind that they are the same guru's of Indian software companies who are crying for USA "reducing" H1B cap from 195K to 65K. They are not saying that it went upto 195K for a temporary period of 3 years and now coming down to its normal level of 65K.

Their statements are based on what helps their pockets.

You got it wrong again Abhi. Look at South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Japan once the manufacturing hubs, but still are doing great though the jobs shifted to China.

Most of us came to this country because of the shortage in job market here. If unemployment increases here and getting a job becomes too difficult, we will have to goto a country where there are jobs (if nothing else, we will goback to our countries :- John Ashcroft's plan for family reunion :p)
