will tranfer from H4 to H1 affect my prevoius application for green card with my huby

Hi! My husband is here on H1 and his company is going to apply for his green card in two months time. I am here on H4 and I got a job offer for a teaching position. My question is that if I change my VISA status from H4 to H1, and my husband's company apply for a green card, will I still be considered his dependent and included in the green card application when my H1 comes? My H1 will take time, and it will come only after the greencard has been applied. Will I have to apply for a new green card for myself too, after my H1 comes, or will my H4 status will continue for my green card.
Please advice me what to do about the situation. Should I apply for H1 after my husband files for green card or should I avoid doing that? or will it help if I apply for H1 before he applies fro the green card. Because we cannot afford to pay for 2 green card applications.

If your husband's company is applying for a green card..you are also covered automatically.
You can flip between H1-H4-h1-H4 as needed so long as you and your husband dont get out of status.
The only thing your husband needs to do is to list you as a dependent...thats all.
You dont need 2 green card applications..although if you could afford it...filing for green card in parallel with your husband in which each is the others dependent is a safety net...if anyone loses his/her job..until you file I-485..you can go with the other O-140 application and get to file i-485.
