Will the new joint 140/485 cause us to be further delayed?

Now that the 140 & 485 filings are together, does that mean all new joint applications (both 140 & 485) will be processed together and we guys who have been waiting with our 485's for almost a year will start seeing these joint applications 140&485 getting approved when the 140 is approved and will have to now wait even longer.

Alternatively, is the processing still going to be separate although the INS is taking both the applications together.

Seems most of us are ok. Affected are those who just got their I-140 approvals after a wait of few months. They will be filing together with those who are yet to file I140 (or pending).. so wait time for those folkds might increase (due to increased number of applicants in this month).
 
I don't think the new regulations will impact people who applied prior to 7/02 or 8/02. I think they will start processing the 485's only after the 140's are approved even though they might accept them together. It's still not clear whether the RD (based on previous terminology) for these concurrent filers would be the actual filing date or the date their 140's are approved.

Millions of 245(i) will rush in with package I140/I485. The August of 2003 WILL be a nightmare of nightmare!! VSC has been doing this kind of stupid things from time to time! The priority date will have problem after these guys are in so people who filed I485 in early 2002 will probably suffer!!

My 2 cents are I think thye will not really affect the previous filers.
They will affect mostly those I485 filers who just got their I140s approved. So basically, those who just got their I140 approved and filed for I485 might see the same approval time with those who filed I140/I485 together.
 
I think most of the people taking advantage of this concurrent 140/485 filling will file in AUG 2002(earliest), so we can see lot of cases with RD/ND in AUG 02.This will result in a huge mountain of new applications in this month (the height of this mountain can even surpass Mt. Everest and America can claim that the World's largest mountain is in USA. :D :D :D).
I think if you are on JULY 2002 side of mountain you will be O.K (meaning you will have to go thru comparatively less pain) but if you or other side then GOD Bless you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Due to this concurrent process I am expecting the priority dates might go back. Within a week you may expect an article on this from sheela or shusterman. If any of you guys planning to participte in murthy chat please post this question also. This is just my thought. I may be wrong.
