Hello, a Canadian friend is planning to visit us in Seattle, WA by air. He's been turned back on the land border of USA before for (literally) being too poor, and for trying to come in by bus. He has no criminal record, he is a freelance software developer and he's going to stay at our home. I'm concerned about his job description, as I read about a professional blogger who was strip searched, detained for hours, and permanently banned from the USA because they didn't believe a person could make a living as a blogger. He is white. How much cash should he bring? Should he also bring a credit/debit card? Do you think they will let him in the country? He is planning to stay for 2 weeks, do you think that is too long? We would rather not bother with the visit if we're not sure it's going to work.
