Will INS call back if they promise?

Dear Netizens,

I called INS last week to sort out issue with my I485 application. I assumed my application be under EB2 but after not getting my approval for long time I called INS. Last month, after dialing for long time, I got through.. I was shocked to learn that my application is waiting for visa availability. I further learned that my application is under EB3. I didn\'t know whats going on so I called my lawyer, she looked over applications and forms she said I was filed under EB2. She called IIO to sort it out. IIO apperently told my lawyer that things will be sorted out and will be put under EB2, where it belonged in first place. Nothing happened for a month, so I called IIO again. My application was still under EB3, IIO told me that she would call me in couple of days after she had a chance to go over my application. This was Tuesday last week. Almost one week passed since, I was wondering if I am expecting which is out of blue or will IIO will really call back? Any kind words on this issue?

PD 3/99 RD 2/15/00 ND 2/23/00 FP 3/24/01 EB?

yes In my case they did call, I was in INS on Friday and my query wasnt answered on Friday anf Immigration officer told me to call back with in next week but see she called me Monday thats is today to let me know about the things she wasnt able to tell on Friday.
SO it depends who you have talked to.

Mixed reactions:
I had spoken to one very nice IIO and she said she will call later and she did call. (sometime last year)
Another time another IIO said she will call if she finds something new. (she has not called yet)

so basically depends on whom you call.

If I was you I wouldn\'t trust these IIOs coz the probability of an IIO being "good" while his busy schedule is almost zero.... we are the masters of our own fate.... So my 2 cents is keep pushing your lawyer and IIO untill you get confirmation on either side, well from both the sides that you are back in EB2.

I think it doesn\'t matter at this time, since all the EB categories became current. You waited so long, just wait for another 5 days to get to July 1st and you should be all set. All that now matters is your notice date. My 2 cents worth of thought. Regarding the IIO\'s - we are not in the 18th century.
