Hi everyone...this is my 1st post...please try to help me out:
Will I DEFINITELY get the I551 stamp(which would allow me to travel) on my passport at the end of the interview if the FBI Name Check is already completed?
I had called USCIS..they said that my FBI name check is completed...and it depends on the officer that will interview us wether or not I will get an I551 stamp on my passport...is that true? Or we get the I551 the same day if we pass the interview and FBI name check is complete?
One more question:
Does "approval notice sent" for the EAD card mean that they have sent me a letter or the EAD card itself?
Thanks everyone in advance

Who did you talk to who gave you the status of your namecheck? A costumer service rep or an actual immigration officer?

IF you are approved AND the namecheck is cleared you CAN request the I-551 stamp. Some District Offices and Officers are giving it, some are NOT, it is at their discretion, since you SHOULD receive your green card only 2 weeks after the interview if everything went well.

If you are approved and yet do not get the stamp, you can make an infopass appointment to your Local Office and request it.

The approval notice means that you are being sent a letter that encloses the EAD card itself. So, both.

an immigration officer over the phone at the USCIS 800# told me about the name check.

Does that mean I can go the DAY AFTER my interview on my infopass appointment and DEFINITELY get an I551 stamp?

customer service reps suck

Bob,

It is discretionary in most cases, you need to hope that your Almight Officer is willing to stamp the magical book and offer you some relief. However, I wouldn't trust those roaches or rodents  who claim to provide you with information because they are customer service reps... in most cases those people are wrong or misguided.

You will need to wait till you are before an officer to check and verify that your namecheck is clear, depending on when is your interview, you can request an info pass and find out...in addition to the status of ur case.

good luck...:)
