Will I ever get my GC?

I filed I-485 with receipt date of October 2002. Did fingerprinting a dozen times submitted medical more than a year ago. I sent a letter to NSC twice both times they wrote me back saying they are checking my background, they will reach a decision within 6 months or send a notice of action. The first letter is more than 6 months old now and they asked me to give fingerprint which I did. I am afraid that this cycle will keep on going and it might take forever to get my green card. Is there anybody with a suggestion what to do?

I am sorry to hear this Newton. Unfortunately it seems as though you are stuck in the name check process. I know you don't want to hear this, but there is nothing you can do about this as we don't have an avenue to sue CIS at this point. So, you just have to grin and bear it.

I hope the check clears soon. In the meantime, I suggest you keep sending NSC reminder notes on a regular basis.

Thank you LolaLi. It would be nice if there is a way we can all act together against this injustice.
