With the new FP rules, consulates have right to hold anyone for undefinite amount of time. By the time FP check and background check is finished (most of the time I assume its clean) its more than 8 weeks and in some cases more than 5 months. That leads to frustration, loss of job, loss of property within US.
Isnt is ironic that one can stay and work within US for the approved H1B validation period but risk everything after leaving US. Why cant govt impose background checking at the time of approving I-797
Is there any way to get FP check and Background check done while we are in US and before we go for stamping in our home country?
I mean if we are already here, it should be easy for govt. agencies to get these things faster rather than doing in oversseas and make us wait fr weeks.
