I am in the USA currently on an H4 visa. I am about to file for my H1B.
But I recently learnt that I might make it to a PhD program for this year's intake. In that case I would definitely like to pursue a PhD rather than take up a job. But I will have to go ahead with the H1 filing before i get a 100% certain 'Yes' from the uni.
Will it be a problem when i go for a change to student status while H1 is underway?
Can I cancel an H1 filing/ processing?
Which is the best way to go about getting a student status by september- a change of status while staying in the US? or going back to India (my home country) and applying for fresh F1?
