Will company takeover affect my I-140?

Hi Guys!

I have a question. My company was recently bought over by a bigger consulting company. It is better in sense of benefits and future prospects, but dont know if its going to mess up my immigration petition.

They say that they are going to maintain my company as a whole owned subsidiary, but I am confused because the pay checks are now coming from the new company.

My I-140 was filed in Nov 2003 and I was wondering if something needs to be done. Will just informing INS of this take over good enough? or the new parent company will file a new I-140? When I call my lawyer or talk to my VP, they just say dont worry, we are in the process of evaluating the impact on green card processing.

Well I am anxious, so if some of you could comment.

Thanks a lot!

Don't worry. If the new company is the successor of interests of the previous one, you're OK. The I-140 process goes on. I believe you have to inform the BCIS about the change or wait for RFE and send the documents with other requested docs. Talk to your lawyer about that.
Company sold during labor and then during I-140 here. Both approved.
