Will a Canadian Work-permit affect I-485 adjudication?

In order to work for our Canadian client, I am asked to apply for a Canadian work-permit. Will this in any way affect my pending I-485? Please note that I will still have my home base in the US and will only visit Canada on an as-needed-basis. This doesn't mean that I will pitch my tent in Canada. Please do opine.
 
IMHO, I don't think it affect in any way. Probably, the canadians may ask why you need a work-permit. Don't worry.
