Have been hearing from a few lawyers that, now that the IIOs do not have to answer calls, they will help with processing cases, expecially 485s. Any thoughts?

Plus, we don't know the real reason for their delay .. I suspect it's the upper officials asking INS to slow down a bit and stem the inflow of immigrants.

I am planning to go to Laguna Niguel office tomorrow. So I went there on Friday to check the working hours.
Well – 3 years ago it was very hard to find a parking place in front of the INS entrance.
Nowadays – the parking lot is empty. Obviously INS has been hit hard with low budget.
Many people here say VCS works fast – but look at their JIT report. They are not that much ahead from CSC.
All this shows one more time – slowing down the immigration services is in fact a government’s desire.
I agree, but they have barrels to approve. If CSC has for average month about 2500 i-485s, VSC has 12000 (check with their thread). It means that when CSC approves 25 per day, VSC will approve with proportionally allocated worforce more than 100 per day which is reflected in rupnet postings and here. That's my theory for now.Originally posted by Silly Man
ND, they are giving out january 2002 approvals by the buckets.
