my wife is a medical doctor (MBBS). She is currently house-wife. I added her name at the time of I140. She will be accompanying me to the US. Now, i am filling packet3.

what would be a good to specify in Col 14- spouse's occupation? Doctor or House-wife? any advantage/limitation/problem of putting doctor/house-wife?

She was working until last year and hence will it be advisable to fill col 22 ( i.e. List all employement for the last ten years) for her?

Will the GC which she will get will have any employment constraints (for e.g. if she wants to do USMLE or some para-medical job) based on the entries which she is going to make in the DS-230-Part-1?

Mine is CP-Mumbai case and I am staying in Mumbai.

Thanks folks and eagerly awaiting reply.

Answer: No advantage or disadvantage with putting either housewife or doctor. One is recommended to put the current informationwhich in your ase appears to be housewife.

Answer: Once she gets her GC thru you, she will nothave work constraints which means she will not need sponsorship/ work visa as she will have a GC (YEAH!!!!) but if she wants to practice in medicalprofession then she will ned to give the USMLE exams and go from there!
