Wife's receipt not received - no case status available

All, I would appreciate any advice.

My wife and I applied in the same envelope on Aug 4th. My fingerprinting notice was dated Aug 8th with an appointment for Sep 5th.

My wife has still not received her receipt let alone her fingerprinting appointment. I looked at the check cashed on Aug 8th and I see a case #

(My case number is WSC*00.......78, the number on her check is .....77)

We called the 888 number but they said there was nothing they could do without a case number.

At this point what do I do for my wife's application.

Do I assume the application is lost and refile or is it too early ?
If I need to refile, how do I get my original filing fee back ?

Same here. In my case my wife got the finger prints done and I am still waiting for my receipt notice. I called USCIS they told me that I should be getting my notice letter and FP appointment around 9/5/06. So I am still waiting. See my signature below for details.

From what I have read on this forum it appears that some applicants do not get receipt notice as fast as most other applicants. Eventually everyone will get the receipt notice. As long as your check's are cashed you can rest assured that your application is in the naturalization pipeline!
