Wifes maiden name question

Hi All;
 My wife\'s maiden name is not changed in her passport to her married name but she has a social security card with the married name. Is it necessary to get her name changed in her passport before we apply for 485 or is her passport and marriage certificate enough???

For CP its a must to change name in wife passport ....I have done it at San Fransisco Indian consulate

I am planning to apply for AOS. Is it still necessary.

I am also doing AOS but still I have got it done......I would say its better to get it done...The INS morons might come up with all kinds of questions if not done...
