Wifes AOS application

HI,

I have a quick question regarding my wifes pending AOS application. We had filed this back in january and my wife has had her prints etc taken and her name check and other background check is complete. I had also sent copy of naturalization certificate twice to the MSC and one each to Chicago lock box one to the local Washington DC office. I did because i was LPR at the time of filing and a few months later had become a US citizen. I had also made an info pass to try to give this to them in person but they would not except anything over the counter. I did include copies of all the receipt notices so am hoping that they matched them with the right AOS application.

Now, I already have my wifes I-130 approved from last year but we still have not recieved any interview or any other correspondance from USCIS since my wifes employment authorization approval back in late Feb 2006. I had made another info pass appointment last Friday and was told that my wifes application has been put in que for interview.

I am wondering if that means that interview letter is on its way or that they will send it when they are good and ready? I have not seen any LAST UPDATE on my wifes I-485 since 2-25-06. I am assuming this is when they got the name check and other information back from FBI etc. I was also told that all background checks are complete. I know i didn't miss anything as far as sending it along with the application and we didn't receive any RFE either.

Does anyone have any idea what "is put in que for interview" really means in USCIS terms? Thanks again for all your help

Regards

Hi,

Who told you that her background/fbiname checks, security checks were ready?

Anyway, your case should be already upgraded because she had an EAD and all that so definitely they upgraded it.

I don't know what that can means since I never heard about that thing, but normally the interview letter came out when the DO is ready to go.

The online case status is not really reliable...and the security check has nothing to do with the case status online. Of course hope that your interview letter is its way!

Good luck,

cherr1980 thanks for the reply,

I was told during the Info Pass appointments at both times that my wifes name check etc was complete. I asked about this again when we went for the Info Pass last Friday. I was told that my wifes file has been put in que to be scheduled for interview. I am not sure if that means that the interview letter is on its way or we will get to it when they are good and ready. God knows when that can be?

The online status had been realible in my wifes uptill now, i know everytime there was an update we did get an email but nothing since March 1st 2006, this was when they said they mailed employment authorization card.

I am just trying to find out when they will send the interview letter for her. I was wondering if anyone else had gone for info pass and had been told that they have been put in que for interview scheduling.

Thanks again

Well, every DO is so different. Will be the first time that I heard that the assistants in line at infopass (that are not adjudicators officers) told a person that the "name check" is complete, probably finally they can see something else in that computer? And I am not saying that probably that means that she, in fact, got clear out already...since normally people know at the interview, if you get stuck the officer will tell you, that everything is fine except that they can't approve because the security check.

I am not saying that in your case her case online is not working, if it does good! in my case, in general, I never had a problem but other cases have been different and we recommend that people don't get attach to the online status as the only source. People get all freak out with every single LUD change and sometimes is just normal stuff nothing that means there are something wrong or good in their cases.

Just be on guard when is time to check your mail. Sometimes they don't update the online status about sending the interview letter I haven't heard about it yet in the time that I have been in this forum, but everyday is a learning day...
