Below is the saga that's going on for more than 45 days on my wife's RFE.

2004, Dec 1st: I received an e-mail fro USCIS and the status is:

On December 1, 2004, we responded to your request for more information
concerning your case.? If you have not received our response within 30 days from
this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

but, I haven't received anything over mail because of an address change issue; later we updated with new address and got confirmation from USCIS Nebraska.

2005, Jan 4rd: I called INS and requested to send the RFE again to the new address:

2005, Dec 4th: I didn't receive any e-mail but I checked USCIS case status online, which says:

On January 4, 2005, we responded to your request for more information
concerning your case.? If you have not received our response within 30 days from
this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283

2005, Jan 7th: LUD updated but no other changes.

Still we haven't received any RFE from USCIS.

Mean while, on my 485, there was a RFE on Dec 29th concerning my employment verification with current employer.

I am really confused about the status of the RFE; did any one had or heard about similar situation????

Please help me deal with this if you can. :confused:

That is not an RFE message.

gimmeabreak,

I don't think the message you posted means that an RFE has been
issued for your wife; rather, it is the standard message you get on
the case status when you (or somebody on your behalf) makes an
inquiry, e.g. through the 800 customer service, regarding your case.
It says: "WE responded to YOUR request for more information..."

I hope this helps. Thanks.

This is NOT RFE

I don't think this is a RFE from USCIS. Typical RFE status looks like following.

"On December 30, 2004, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

Hope this helps.

thanks...

guys,
thank you both for the replys; I did re-read and thought about the query; you may be right.. we did call USCIS few days (Nov 29th'04) regarding the address change on my wife's LIN# (later received confirmation from them that address is updated)... and that may've caused status change and the email;
BUT, when same address change done for my case, I didn't receive an email... just a thougt;

thanks again
