My wife is on F1 and is expecting in february. She is currently studying in John Hopkins. In view of this, she plans to take the Spring semester off. We were told by her International Programs Office that if she does not take her full load of courses, she is likely to fall out of status and pregnancy is not considered a valid medical reason. Hence, she should change her visa status to H4 (I am on H1)
