Applying Spouse I-485 without my 485 receipt number

Hi,

I sent my I-485 application on July 5, 2007 to NSC. I did this to have a proof that i applied in July (becuase of the July 2, 2007 notice from USCIS).
The problem is i didnot send my wifes application along with mine. Now as the July visa numbers are open, my application will be accepted but i don't think i will get my 485 receipt number before August 17th, 2007.

My question is can i send my wifes application immediately without getting my 485 receipt number. I have the copy of my I140 receipt number. Can i add this to my wife's application and send?

What will happen if i send without my 485 receipt number? will i get a RFE or a rejection?

Yes u can.

You can do it. But they will take about additional 4 weeks to tie her application to your file.

I can say this as my daughter's case was rejected due to fee issue , and the lawyer refiled , and the check got cashed after 4 weeks for her.. I did not have any proof of my filing at that time.
