Wife got FP notice, I did not, please help!!

My Wife is the primary on our GC app. Our PD is 9/98 and Notice date 2/2000. She got
  her FP notice from VSC 4 days back. But VSC hasn\'t sent mine yet. Spoke to IIO
  today and she said she would request my file and check out status.

  Is it common for this to occur? Should I wait for some time for the mail ? What happens
  if I do not receive FP even after 1-2 weeks.

  Any response would be appreciated.

Did you guys filed the application together?
If so, You may get the FP with in a couple of weeks...

Yes we applied together. I am also on H1 so I understand it will be processed separately. I hope I get the FP soon. However it is unsual, isn\'t it.

Can such things happen during 485 approval also. E.g wife\'s approval comes, mine doesn\'t ?

It is not certain.What is happening at INS
sometimes Every one get the same thing( I 485,FP) in the family, If applied together.
Sometimes if not applied together also, they used to get together...
Recently, One of my friend contacted his lawyer on this
His case is: He filed his wife\'s case after 1 year of his filing. He got FP but his wife did nt..

The lawyer office said " DONT REQUEST INS FOR FP OF YOUR SPOUSE"
which you should nt do. The lawyer stated Recently one of our client tried.
Ins separated wife\'s case and it took me almost 6 months to straighten it out..."
He suggested to be patient until you hear something from INS....

I am not sure How FAR lawyer is true...

May be some Gurus can discuss this further

This is not unusual. I know 1 friend who got his fp notice 15 days ahead of his wife. I got mine 1 day ahead of my wife. You should however, go ahead and have you wife\'s finger printing done. Yours should be coming in shortly. All the best !!
