Why dont somebody with IEAD for a efile come forward

Hi there,

This could be my case specific. So, dont panic. OK.

I went to st. louis office and showed them my I-765 reciept that i got in mail one week after filing online.

She asked me to wait and she would issue an Interim EAD. After a while, she came back and told me she couldnt find the information about the file.

Me: this is the receipt i got from BCIS one week after filing it online. I even got my Fingerprints and photographs taken at this office.
-> oh if you filed online you have to contact the service center that you filed. Makes sense why i cant find your information about it now.

Me: how can i get an interim EAD from Service Center. Aren't the sub-offices supposed to issue that if 90 days have passed.
-> No. you have to wait for the actual EAD. i cant do anything. you have to wait until they adjudicate the case. That is your only option.

Me: 800-number said i could go to the local office and get the interim EAD.
-> They dont always give the right information.

I tried to persuade her but she repeated the same thing again and again.

I thought i should gather more information before i try and argue with her.
 
I e-filed for EAD renewal 95 days back, didn't hear anything from TSC; I went to the Atlanta office today and applied for interim EAD, same day they issued me an iEAD valid for 8 months. But the wait time was for about 6 hrs, but it's worth it. Without a valid EAD i can't continue to work with my employer. I am glad that at least they have some 'work arounds' like this.

I will continue to wait for the original approval from TSC.

Could you please give me some more details about your IEAD experience in Atlanta, things like what time one needs to go there ? Early or late ? how long it takes ? What documents do they need ? And do they accept personal checks for payment ?

One will get iEAD for no additional cost. I suggest you to get there by at least 6 am. I would suggest you go with a filled 765 application form, bcas they are going to ask you to fil out when you go there. They asked me copy of I-485 filed receipt , copy of your EAD renewal receipt and a photo id. I had to wait to wait for about 5 hrs in the cust svce area, then a lady asked me to wait in another room for 45 minutes and then she took pictures for the EAD and handed over the iEAD in the next 30 minutes. It takes anywhere from 6-8 hrs from the time you reach the office entrance.

For some reason, they issued me iEAD which is valif dor ONLY 8 months, so i am waiting for my original approval.
