Why does U.S do this to permanent residents?

This is about the conflict in lebanon. I saw on CNN that ONLY U.S Citizens were "rescued" and U.S Permanent Residents were left behind. There were stories on CNN International where a wife is a U.S Citizen and husband a P.R, the wife was allowed to board the ship whereas the husband was left behind...I mean this is all B.S I think.

U.S should at least consider permanent residents as valuable as U.S Citizens. After all U.S PR pay the same taxes & should at least be protected by United States because PR's have made it their home...don't you think?

US PR can't be treated same as US citezen. They can both pay taxes but they are differents.US citizen abraod must register with the US Embassy while a US PR doesn't.US citizen vote the US President while US PR is not allowed.US PR have his/her home country wich supposed to rescue his/her citizen in case. What do you think should have a burden to rescue a US PR citizen of France? It's not a french government?

I agree with the US policy. It is the responsibility of a country to safeguard its citizens. Why should a country bother about citizens of another country?
Yes if there is a dual citizenship issue then you can enjoy the privileges based on which embassy you contact.
LPRs are only entitled to the enjoyment of certain rights & privileges while in the US.Outside US how can they be a LPR....technically the word 'permanent' too doesn't stick. LPR's are NOT compelled to comply with duties and obligations outside the US....so why should US policies ( or for that matter any country) reciprocate.
