Why do priority dates retrogress?

I am wondering why the dates become current and then they talk of dates being retrogressed. Anyone has idea what this all means?

Concerned because of my EB3 application and pd of 10/00...and not sure if I can hold on the job till may 2002

Can you write more details?

If someone does not send in 485 App before PD retrogress then they can get affected depending on their PD - but you already seemed to have applied.

Why have you mentioned May 2002 in your question.

I have already applied and the reason is if I cannot get my GC before may 2002 and if the dates retrogress then INS will stop working on my file and tentatively I guess my job will hold good till may 2002(no other significance to this date)
