Why do people apply for FOIPA or FOIA?

If you get clean record in that, then even then it means squat as far as pushing along name check faster? Am I correct?

Is it more for curiosity or does getting your own personal FOIPA request get you any advantage?
I'd like to know the reason so I can be more cognizant of this.

Stronger case when appealing to first lady or to filing a WOM. Politicians are a bit less afraid when that information is available to them that the person has never been investigated before.

I see. Ok, thanks, thats useful to know.
So when writing to First Lady - do folks enclose a copy of the FOIPA results?

brb2,
Have you done this?

When I wrote to first lady I included the FOIPA results and included a paragraph in my letter that said despite FBI clearly stating that no records are to be found for me my name checks still remain pending.

I have not done it as yet. The way I see it, USCIS probably electronically sends out the name check request to FBI each week or so within a maximum of 5 days from one's NOA. Typically within a maximum of 60 days of this, FBI clears 90% of the name check requests. For me that period is not yet over. Thus, I have not yet done an Infopass to inquire either. I will do an infopass next month and at that time, IF I find that I am stuck in name check, then..... I will do what others on this board do!
