Why did I receive notice to take biometrics while my MTR for I-140 is still pending?

I filed I-140/I-485 concurrently on 09/15/05. In 10/05, 140 denied. My attorney filed I-290B on 11/15/05. No update since then. But today, I received notice to take biometrics code 3. Does this mean anything to my MTR/I-140 status?

i got similar request for bio code 3 while my i-612 is pending. i do not know what they are doing? did u get any update?

My MTR was just moved to AAO. It looks like the Biometric tests progress separately. As long as your I-485 is pending, you will get the notice to take Biometric test. Good luck.

I think it has to do with your 486 pending. Nothing to do with 140.

What is Biometric test, is it something like Finger Print.
