why derivative's case touched before the principle's

I am the principle applicant. The online status message remains "received FP, etc..". But my husband's case got a different message, showing it has been looked at.

"A written notice was sent but returned due to undeliverable postal service".

It could be a RFE.

Is it normal that the derivative case processed prior to the principle?

The good news is BCIS starts looking at Feb 2002 cases, bad news is now I can't help wonder what that witten notice is.

Looks like VSC is picking on Feb'02 RD cases also. Is it because
January is super light month? I know that there are still some Dec'01 cases pending. But how come we are seeing more and more Feb'02 cases now a days ? It might be possible that those
people who got FBI clearance are getting approval fast. I might be
wrong, but i just want to do some analysis behind the Feb'02 approvals. I am happy for those Feb'02 guys who got approved.
I wish that things move fast from now onwards.
 
RFE doesn't mean anything, could be redo medical. this is done before assigned to officer. I saw lots of cases R or T last year too.
 
it could be his birth certificate, medical etc. Maybe you don't have any problems with your file - you should be happy :)

I don't think Jan 2002 was super-light. Just look at the data on Rupnet: Nov 2001 had 440, Dec 2001 375 entries, Jan 2002 270, Feb 216.
It was 'lighter' than Nov or Dec, but still not super light.

I am not abandoning the thread. I just wait to receive the "written notice" from BCIS, after I have submitted an inquiry to let them resend the previously returned notice.

let's see how long that will take.

Just as to provide some relief to Feb 2002 filers, could you please post some digits of your EAC # ??
 
today got the written notice

Has anyone got a new I485 receipt with old RD but new ND?

Per my previous posting, today I got the written notice after I send inquiry to BCIS.

It happen to both of us once. We applied EAD renewal back in January, got the card in March. But in May we received 2 EAD receipt acknowledging receipt of the EAD applications. We ignored that incidence.

Hopefully nothing strange going on here. Good thing is the EAC number is the same and RD is the same.

I appreciate if anyone cares to share any similar experience.
 
What was in the notice. What is VSC asking? Is this for 485 and not EAD?
And you are Feb 2002 Rd correct???

I just got another I485 Receipt with same EAC number, same RD, but new ND.

that is the written notice they had sent, I suppose.

Nothing else.

I am of Feb 02 RD.
