October is about 20% over and I still havent seen my approval. I have NEVER had an early approval... always with the last people to be approved! 
Why cant I be lucky for once?

I am the unluckiest person. I am born with unluck written on my forehead. Atleast you guys get pay raises. Working for just minimum salary. Hoping for this damn GC to come through to get independence.
Came to this $%#&ing country, God knows what for back in Feb 1997. Started GC process in Aug 1997, filed paper finally on Dec 10/97. D*^$ NJ labor opened file in March 2000. RD for I-485 Oct 1/01, FP: Mar 6/02, Processing resumed on Mar 14/02.
some @!~^ing INS officer is letting my file have sex with his Girl friend or wife. I can't see approval in near future. while people are getting approved who applied in 2000 or later for GC. So, I beat you brother.
Our day will come. One day, when INS officer is tired with our files. Beacuse GOD refuses to help me. I don't know about you.

I truely understand your feelings. Yes..ofcourse it is hard for people waiting for more than 5 years for GC who see approvals for people who started just 2 years before. I also fall into this category...I started by process only on Nov.2000 and Iam so lucky enough to be nearing in getting my GC. Everybody have their own stories... I should have got my GC by this time but unfortunately due to some critical situations I was not able to make it. So...Whatever happened is for the good & cheerup....Your time will come.....
Eventhough you get GC late, you guys are definitely much more experienced than us. Nobody can compete in that..Am I right? At the same time nobody is going to offer you a million dollar by getting GC. It's going to be the same routine... Ask the experience of people who got GC...they say "no difference..."
So take this game as a FUN and not as a BURDEN... God is definitely there to help us. "He who planted the tree will definitely provide water." Have faith & confidence.

In days of economic downturn where people get laid every other day, it isn't "Fun" but all burden. I can definately understand what paraj is going through.
Would you think it as all "fun" if you started your process way back in 1997 and still waiting for approval ? I dont think so !!
While I agree with you on the fact that things dont necessarily change post GC, it definately opens a few doors for people who have a dead-end job and sticking around just in anticipation of GC approval.

Thanks friends. GC gives every body freedom to stand up to arrogant, snotty and exploiting bosses. We become independent. Our bosses can't blame us for their mistake as in turn we can bring in laws to fight them. When we are on GC, we are at their mercy. You guys know. We don't get raises, we can threaten them, no pay hike, I walk away, etc....
These INS officer don't realize our pain as they go home happily with a secure job. But, as they (American) say "What goes around comes around". By hurting us, gives them (INS officers) pleasure. Rest assured they will get what they desreve. As Lincoln once said "No One is above the Law No one is above the Law". "Your Karma is going to get you" (Jon Lennon) and Bhagvad Gita. So, if any INS officer browing this web site, remember there is a delay but there is a justice for all (Bible). By hurting us, don't enjoy, as INS officers' day of judgement will also come (Bible).

Can you guys suggest some inspirational Books ?
There are some instances in my life which really changed my career dramatically. Whenever I climbed a step in my life, it was a big
one and some one was responsible for it. Definitely not to my credit.
1. When I got through engineering entrance, I had a senior who inspired me. (We both are not friends though - we dislike each other).
2. When I was about to fail in my PG, I fought back with an inspirational message from a holy book. (Bhagavat Gita)(Came out in First Class).
3. When I got my first job, I was inspired by just 1 sentence from the speech of an unknown person.
4. When I was under depression, I read Kane and Abel by Jeffery Archer and it boosted my morale. Again this book is suggested by my friend.
It is very interesting to know that some people sometimes just come into your lives, just to help you through the critical situations..
Now again I am looking for inspirational books. Does anyone know of any ? Please let me know.
But I prefer real stories rather than fiction... if possible please suggest good books. But only
