Why Aug 2001 Cases Approving ???

The USCIS site displays they are working on Jan 23, 2001 cases. But the results we are getting are Aug, 2001 cases.

There is no more I 485's filers in between Jan to Aug 2001...

Why the GAP... Can any one research on this ????

Just Curious Guys...I am not agnist Aug. 2001, it is good they are getting approvals after a long wait....

Atleast I am Happy to See our Friends Approval , Which are very old by any means.
 
Any 2001 application approval is a plus. USCIS claim that they process the oldest cases first, but they don't even seem to be able to stay within a 12 month range of cases.:rolleyes: Provided it is a 2001 application that is approved, I am happy.
 
09/26/2003: Mystery of Processing Times Report

- We often encounter callers who express anger over alleged mistreatment of his/her case by the Service Centers. Typically, they argue that according to the Service Center processing times report, they are processing "certain date" of cases but the caller filed their cases much earlier. Usually, such callers misunderstand that the processing and adjudication of cases at the Service Centers are produced in a matter of production beltline in the manufacturing plant. The following explanation of one Service Center should help the immigrant community to understand the reality of the work process within the Service Center buildings: "Some Officers are working on dates that are ahead of published times, but not every officer is working on same date. SC must report the oldest dates of each type of application being worked so even if they are working ahead, it may not be reflected by the current processing time list if there is even one case from the older date pending." When the SC adjudicates older cases to reduce the backlog in the processing times report, they have to keep adjudicating cases which they had received in much later dates because the SC cannot let new ones fall further behind.

- The foregoing should answer the common mystery why the later cases of other colleagues receive decision earlier than his or her's. People should understand the limit of the Processing Times Reports of the Service Centers when it comes to understanding of waiting time for a specific individual case. Again, it is not a beltline in an automated production process in a manufacturing facility.

With USCIS publishing the processing times themselves perhaps they are putting a stake on the ground that the dates are real. Only time will tell the strange workings of CIS.
 
If I understand you correctly, you are saying that there are no I485 filers between Jan 2001 and Aug 2001?

Anyways, concurrent filing didn't exist yet back then, so people would file I485 after getting their I140 approval. So, just specularing, maybe TSC didn't do any I140 approvals for that half-year, resulting in nobody filing I485 during that period?
 
If I remember correct, all categories Eb2, EB3 dates became current around Jun 2001, there should be fewer applications for 485, I think.

I have this one collegue whos RD is 4/2001 and he got approved in 03/2002, Eb2, India

I filed 485 in Jul 2001 and finger printed in May 2003. I have heard nothing since then. Also, my online status has never been updated on the FP status.

Do not you worry about up dates on the web site. Many of the approvals I saw have never had their status updated from the 999 days message.

Atlanta485 is Right; The PD's were not current for a long time; So there cannot be many cases during early 2001.
The PD's for EB2 ( of some friends) were current by May 2001
Our ( me & spouse) cases were EB3 and were current by July 1, 2001.
Remember! PD's were moving @ 1 month per month, suddenly to 3 months & then it was a just Leap of 6 months;

By the way:
The SRC # have no Serial logic at all either.
There are cases who applied before us and SRC # higher than us.

& Others who applied later & got GC's
Can You beat this??
A person applies for EAD, GC & AP in Aug. 01.
Did NOT get ND for AP or EAD.
Within 3 months got GC.
Actual Card in 11 months
Then Went back to India

"THEY ALSO SERVE WHO ONLY STAND AND WAIT"
Why????
