Why all the LUD are changing ?? Is new retrogression coming ??

Hi,

My LUD was changed last week to 08/19/06. My PD is Apr 30, 2001. I thought that i was nearing the end of the tunnel. But when i saw lots of other people also saw their LUD changed and their PD is as far as 2003, i am afraid that they are marking all the cases for further retrogression. I know this is just speculation and i do not like to think that way.

I would like to know what is the common reason between all the people who saw their LUD changed. I suspect that it may have to do with all the cases with RFE issued. May be they are updating the cases for the RFE response or something. I hope that the new retro does not hit us, i may ceratainly move to Canada for a year or so. Atleast that will help me in getting my Canadian Citizenship wihle waiting for US GC.

I hope you guys commet on my thoughts.

If there is one thing I have learned over the years its that LUD changes are very unpredictable and it is next to impossible to co-relate their occurence with any significant movement or change in the case. Whenever I see LUD changes I keep an eye out for some sort of notice (FP mostly) but there have been numerous times when a LUD change occured without any notice or change.

I hope that you are right and we will not be hit by another retro. Also i am reading all your posts from past few months now. If you do not mind can you give me your comments about the thread i started http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=223187

I need your input on my ideas since i know that you have seen all bad,worse and ugly things in immigration. I sure can use your blessings for the new community i am trying to put together.

LUD Changes : For some reason they touched Ur case.... or they opened it and saved it without doing anything ... Opps the adjucator might have had thought --- I hit the wrong link ... :)

After biometrics the LUD generally changes.

Say U and Ur spouse and Ur child filed for 485 and there is a LUD on all three .. hmm I would say that might be an indication for a good news.

LUD only for U or Ur spouse would likely mean RFE .. but they would change the message and emails are generated .. often in plenty. Sometimes there is LUD but no action ...

I would guess they (USCIS) has reordered the list for next year .. some of cases are already preApproved .. and they have got fresh quota now...

And in the process of reordering they have matched the preApproved cases with the visa numbers.


Wow ... so a LUD now would mean .. approval in next USCIS year ...

[ Well I am guessing .... who knows what goes inside USCIS .. Saras and UnitedNation .. does my argument make some sense :)]

I read a good explanation that that may be due to the recent USCIS initiative to transform data into digital format.

I'd just ignore the LUD change.
