I have received my daughter’s US passport. a question for you,

Who needs to sign on her passport? It says, “not valid if not sign”, of course, my baby daughter, about 3 months old, can’t sign.

If I sign, should I sign my name and put a note "father"?

Thank you for your response.

I too applied for and received my son's US passport when he was 4 months old. I called passport office and asked them about who should sign. They told me to write the baby's full name on the dotted line, and then put my signature above or below it and write (Father) in parantheses.

This is what I did.

Just Wrote the full name & travelled many times

I just wrote my daughter's full name on the dotted line. She has travelled 4 times out of US in her 3 years and visited about 6 countries, no problem any where.

Don't worry too much about this. In fact we had gone out of the country without completely the signature line. On return, when we were at the immigration counter, the immigration officer just told me to write her full name in uppercase. That's it! She was then 4 months.

Good luck!
