Hi!
My i-140 is approved ( RD:11/25/02, ND: 11/29/2002 Approval Date : Sep 25, 2003).

I have paid for all GC expenses ( INS fees, lawyer fees, Advert expenses, Medical Test fees) .

My question is

1. Legaly who should keep 140 approval notice
2. Since I have paid for all these exp./ I should have it or not

Does it matter that I should have original approval notice or copy of the notice should be sufficient?

Vi,,

I think copy of the notice is sufficient, basically the petition is on behalf of the employer, so I think the employer or employer's attorney would have the original copy.

My attorney informed me of the approval and faxed me a copy and I never thought to whom it should belong since 485 is being processed and only approval of that matters to me. In my case I would think as long as my 485 is going smooth I really don't care.

Also I am not sure how useful the original I-140 approval notice would be, if others have any thoughts please share.

Legally employer has right to keep 140. My employer refused to give even photocopy. As my company did not do concurrent filing I asked 140 copy to file 485.
