Who control your process?

I have many friends that got GC in 1.5 years (average). They paid their attorneys for the process. I know others (including myself) that had attorneys paid by sponsoring company and do not have any control over the process. I am in the process for over 2.5 years.

What is your opinion on: If you pay an attorney your process is most likely quicker than if paid by your company?

Let me know your thoughts. I am interested to know if those approved cases are most from private paid attorneys or if attorneys can request a process to be delayed per company request.

Luck & Timing

I too am using a private attorney for filling 485, paying all out of my pocket since for some reasons my company's legal dept. asked me to do that. My Rd is May 02 but I have not got any FP notice as yet so I don't expect a approval anytime soon.
I have 4 other co-workers who filed thru our legal dept around same time as I did ( so basically on their own ) , all of them have FP notices.
I personally don't agree if paying a attorney from your own pocket versus your company paying him makes much difference.
With TSC, it is pure luck.

Good question, rickgm

I have always wondered about this myself.

I dont think it matters who pays the attorney. But there may be a possibility of difference in results based from attorney to attorney.

What I mean to say that some attorney may know the trick and may attach something in the file which triggers fast processing. Some may have inside information and contacts and that may have a positive effect on processing.

Besides, has any one thought about corruption at TSC? We all take things for granted and think that it is happeining due to luck or randomness. But I done think such extreme randomness is just mere luck. I come to think corruption may be a factor.

offcourse, I dont know for sure. But just a thought.

Skills, Prompt action, Insider info, luck

For a specific attorney, I don't think it matters if he is paid by applicant or the employer.
On atorney side, factors matter should be diligence leading to quick action, skills, knoledge, experience, and INS inside information if he can get.
On employer side: promptly providing document.
On INS, randomeness, luck, case priority.
Corruption is really a very rare matter. It's simple, it's not worth to be seduced to take any kind of bribe on that. Punishment is so severe. It's not like on Wall Street or on other business contracts.
