While on EAD Can I get a new H1 if the current H1 expired

Folks, Need help

Can I apply for a new H1 or for an extension of H1 which expired on Jun6.
I already have a valid EAD

If you are on EAD, you are currently in "Adjustment of Status" stage. H1 is a non-immigrant visa petition. So, if you are on EAD you CANNOT go back to H1. By the way, why do you want to re-new your H1 visa anyway!!!!!!!!!!

I want to re-renew H1 so that I can bring my wife as a dependent if Im getting married before I485 is approved

You can definitely go back to a H-1 if you are on an EAD. This is my 2nd year on EAD and my H1 just got approved. Though I would have to go to India to get it stamped. I wanted to get my wife as a dependent.
I\'ve done this on Mr Khanna\'s advice.

Once you bring your wife as a dependent, what is the leatest stage of I485 can you add your wife in 485. Can she be added after Finger printing is done
