Which would be better??

I am currently in US on K-3. Last info received in July said that I-130 would be processed in 30-90 days. Called after 90 days and was told they have 2 years to process.
Now that I am in US would it be faster to apply for I-485 or just wait for the I-130.
Hubby is US citizen and working but we cannot live on his salary.
 
I just looked up requirements for filing 485. The forms and info required are all duplicates of what I have already filed for I-130 and K-3. Also, I have already had an approved medical that I was required to get before I received the K-3. Is it necessary to submit everything again?
