Hi

I am a consultant in my 5th year of H1b. i need to know if i file labor through perm on EB2 category, which service center will be faster.
vermont (VSC), California (CSC),Texas (TSC). Based on that i am planning to switch company.

some say it doesn't matter where you file and
some say it does matter. I am really confused on this. What is the actual truth.

Thanks
Kumaran

Hi Kumaran,

The centers you listed are USCIS centers. Your employer, their attorney (or you or your attorney on their behalf) need to file the Department of Labor, in the state where you plan to work once the green card is approved.

It DOES matter where you file. It also matters the category in which you file. I got my labor certification a few years ago approved in Maryland in 2 months, thanks to the fact that I filed as a college assistant professor.
