I have a UK passport and have recently applied for US citizenship. I have a 5-year multiple entry visa for India that is currently affixed to my UK passport.

What is the protocol to follow once I get my US passport?

Do I need to get a new Indian visa affixed to my US passport or can I take along both the UK and (new, without visa) US passport and present them both at Indian immigration? Will the lack of visa on the US passport create problems for entry to India? What about when departing from India?

Exit with the US passport, enter India with the UK passport. Reenter US with the US passport.

Exit with the US passport, enter India with the UK passport. Exit India with the UK Passport, reenter US with the US passport.

It is required that US Citizens use US pssport while entering and exiting US. As an alternative, contact Indian consulate/embassy to see if they can transfer you visa from the UK passport to the US pssport. That will keep it simple.

You can get a new visa for your US passport and keep it simple. You cannot transfer an Indian visa from a UK passport to a US passport - you simply have to apply for a new one.

I'll get a new visa as suggested ... that will be the easiest route and avoid all complications.
