Which is Better...

Dont Care

Hi All,
I am not sure whether I understand the 180 day rule well. This looks very tricky to me. Please post your opinions and views. As read in all places, it looks like we have 2 options:

1. Work for the company where you applied for the Green card and get it. After getting the GC you have to stay with the company for atleast some time. It might be generally accepted as about 6 months unless there is a real cause for coming out of employment like lay off etc. In this case, can we quit the company based on the benefits that we get. In most companies they are not giving the 401K match, which can be different from the time you applied for GC. Can this be a good reason to quit the company after getting the GC before the 6 months period?

2. The other option is, if we quit the company before the 485 application is adjudicated, then we dont come under the 6 months post GC period. If the 485 is adjudicated after 180 days, then we are fine. But, does this mean, we will not have to prove anything when/if we apply for Naturalization? With the Indian Govt accepting the dual citizenship, it might make a difference.

Please do post your views.

Thanks
