Which I-94 to surrender when leaving country?

Will come back on AP. I have I-94 from last entry when I was on F-1. After that I changed to H-1b and had the I-94 mailed to me along with H1-B approval notice. Which I-94 should I surrender at the airport when leaving country? And who will take my I-94? Thanks.

Airlines people will take your I-94 and you need to give the card which you got when you entered the country last time.

Incorrect...

The latest I-94 you obtained will override any old/previous ones you have. So when someone asks you I-94 #, it is the number from your H1B approval stub. NOT the one you obtained when you last entered on F1.

I would give all I-94's, you will get a new one anyway when you re-enter, so why keep unwanted I-94s?

Well

i hope surrendering all will not create a new problem, coz that might prompt the guys to ask unwanted questions and that's another big mess. Think of the situation where u need to explain those semi-knowledged guys about how you switched companies while on H1 blah...blah, it just makes them to suspect you more. Just keep the old ones somewhere, and surrender only the latest.

If your I-94 from last entry and I-94 with H-1b are showing the same number, you need to return your last entry I-94 while your are traveling back at the airport.

My experience when I left the country in Jun 2003..

I had 1 white I-94 expired, stampted to pp,
1 I-94 on the H1b pettion expiry in 2 months
1 I-94 valid on h1-b petition expiry in 1 yr.

All same employers

I-94 number is same on all of them

I went by BA from Newark, the agent only took White I-94 which i had filled when i came in and gave me back i-94s with h1 extn.

I came back after stamping @ POE just asked about employer and job nature.

Good idea to give them all to travel agent and keep a copy for your records

I am not aware of what is done after new entry exit program is in place ? Which airport you will use ? Can any body tell what are new entry exit procedures @ airports for H1-AP-GC etc..

Do you get a I-94 when you enter using Advance Parole ?

Yes, they give you a I-94 with one years validity from the date of entry and it says "Adjustment of Status" instead of H1.
