Where to take Photos?

Hi guys,

I just started this whole N-400 process and have a couple questions - thanks in advance for your help!

(1) Where did you guys go to get your passport-style photos taken?

(2) I received my green card through a marriage to my citizen-husband.
In my case, should I send in last 5 years tax returns (federal only? or state as well?) and all the other documents proving our bona fide marriage (Even though N-400 instruction form does not specifically ask for any of those documents)?

Thank you!

Anywhere...Costco, CVS, Walgreens, Kinkos -- just about anywhere they take passport-sized photographs.

You don't need to. Just have them ready to take for the interview.

Thanks poongunranar!

As for tax returns, I read conflicting claims on this board... some strongly suggest that you send in at least 3 years worth of Federal tax returns along with other documents... and others suggest that you only need them for the interview.

I am leaning toward just playing safe and sending in tax returns for the last 3 years.

Thanks again!

If it gives you peace of mind, go ahead. But, whether you send it with application or not, make sure you have them for the interview. More than the return, you need the IRS transcripts. So file and get them in mail from IRS.

Thanks again! I didn't know I need IRS tax transcripts other than tax returns. I will request the last 3 years' transcripts from IRS. Thanks for your advice!

One more quick question.... which transcript do I order from IRS? Return transcript? Account transcript? Record account?

Thanks again!

Transcript for your returns. It's A 1-800 #. Go to IRS site. You can order them for free through the phone 24 hrs a day. Usually you get them in 10 days.
