where to file I 824

My friend's I 485 was approved from arlington after interview.

RD sept 2001
Transfered to Local INS at Nov 2002
Approved date 14 Feb 2003

His wife and kids are back home. NOw he need to file I 824 for them. He is confused where to file I 824 , either Arlington office or Vermont serivce service.

Does anybody has idea.

The interview was only for your friend? Did his spouse and kids also get interview letter? Usually IIO ask for the I-824 during the interview.

Please give us details of the interview for your friend.
Did you say his RD is Sept 2001 and TD is Nov 2002? It's unbelievable!

Mine got tranfered on Oct 7, 2001 and no sign of interview. I know many guys who are waiting for interview with RD July/August 2001.

Please give us more details.

His wife and kids are not here in United States so there is no question about their interview.

They are back home. Now he wants to bring his wife and kids using I 824.


I am pretty sure his interview was in Feb 14th and his case was transfered in Arlington local office in November 2002.

Look at the following link for more info about following-to-join. Specifically it says "You should file the I-824 at the BCIS office that took the most recent action on your case"

So based on this he needs to apply in arlington office and not VSC
