where to apply SSN

Hi folks

i want to apply SSN to my wife, i want to know wether i can apply any where in US or i have to apply where my company is situated or i have to apply the address where my plastic card address.

My company is situated at boston and i gave plastic address to michigan.

please let me know

You can go to SSN office,closest to ur house(which is convienent) with ur H1 approval, ur wife's passport and they will issue u not SSN but ITN. They stopped issuing SSN's for spouse's who are on H1. That ITN number is used for ur taxe's and what not.
