Where should the candidate reside during the greencard process_home country or USA

Hi All

My daughter is going to get married next year. The groom is an US citizen. My daughter can apply for her GreenCard once she is married. she is currently employed with a top MNC where the company is ready to send her to the USA through a L1 visa or H1 visa. Is it possible for my daughter to go and stay in the USA after wedding with the visa that the company is going to sponsor and get her greencard staying there in USA only? or Is it neseccary to be in india when she is processing her GreenCard?

Since H1 and L1 are "dual intent" visas, it is entirely proper for her to enter to work on either after her marriage. A B2 visa is not a proper manner since it has no immigration intent. It will be easier if filing begins after her entry into the US since it will be clearly files as AOS and not end up with consular processing.
