Hi ,
We sent the I-130/485/765/131 package to the Chicago lockbox and our checks have been encashed yesterday .We are trying to look for the case number on the checks. What are the three starting letters of the case number for petitions submitted to Chicago and if you don't mind, could someone please tell us if the case number would be on the front or the back of the encashed check ?

Letter in mail...

UMD,

if I were you, will wait till this evening or whenever a mailman comes to your house, at least, you should have all NOA for all forms today.

I have read that at times, the numbes on the back of the check are different from MSC or receipt number for the forms. In most cases, you check has been in the bank as of friday, and they already mailed the NOA to your home immediately after it is cashed. :D

So... good luck and now the waiting game start.... :p

ciao,

AL

The numbers will most likely start "MSC". However note that those numbers are not actually your case numbers in most cases, you have to increment the number by 1-4 for it to be correct. I successfully did this and found my cases online 5 days before I recieved NOA1 in the mail.

Al: Modern check cashing is done by scanning the check and sending it via computer, not by mail, so often the bank will have an image of the cashed check on its website a few days before you would get any mail confirmation.
