Yup, you are right ont the money.

I see the EB3 date for India in visa bulletin is stuck in 04/2001 (april 2001) for quite sometime. Is it for the reason above mentioned the non-availability of visa numbers?. So by october can we see some good movement in the visa bulletin for EB3 status ? any idea?

Is there any realistic estimate of when our I-485 approvals will start flowing in ? Any developments are made as far as the visa numbers or faster processing happening in the immigration front?.

--------------

PD (Eb3) - May 2003
I-140/i-485 - RD 04/2004
EAD/AP so far three times...
I-140 - AD 02/2005
I-485 - AD ?

Nope - its stuck @2001 because the demand far outpaces the available numbers -- if the numbers are totally exhausted, then the dates will become "U" (unavailable)

It is NOT going to move forward dramatically come October. We need changes in the immigration law to make the movement faster.

Given the current pace, it could easily take 2 years (at least) for India EB3 to reach your PD of May 2003 - yup bad news sorry :(

Thanks for your response.

Any immi law change already happening in the pipeline, I heard sometime back grouping entire family like wife, son, husband, etc. into one visa number instead of using one for each family member is that gonna happen anytime soon?

The entire debacle on visa number started because of the increase in visa to 195000 without any change related to visa numbers isnt it ?.

Two years of uncertainty is such a long time and it actually make me put off any critical decision I could take leave alone economic changes that might happen leading to lay offs etc (Yes we are protected by AC21 etc...) that can cause us extra burden as well. So pretty much we are paying the price for the inefficiency of USCIS isnt it?

Is there any other way around this , like can we opt for CP (consular processing) or any other substitute labor if I could get my hand on it, how long that would take in that case any idea?

Thanks a lot.
