when will my 485 get approved?

my PD is 12/03 and now I see that the visa bulletin for my category (china, EB2) is 1/04, and my 485 receipt date is 12/04, way before the vermont processing date.

so how soon will i get my 485 approval? will travel in july overseas, was wondering if i need to apply for advance parole.

With USICS everything is a black hole. For some reason if your application gets stuck in name check you are in for a long haul. The best and safest way to handle this is to get an AP.

Get your AP

AP usually takes between 1.5 - 2.4 months, so get it now and play safe.

(My PD became current on 1st Feb, and I am stuck in name check for last
2 years and 11 months)
 
ideally you can write to senator's office
they will initiate enquiry on ur behalf for case status.
if the name check is the reason for delay ...it will come up as response

Call VSC and ask them for your status . They will be able to tell you. good Luck....

Your case is similar to mine. I'm from India and having priority date current since Mar 06. Pending date 11/04 is way behind the VSC processing dates and I'm still waiting for my I-485. I confirmed that my name check is completed.

In your case, you are becoming current in May 06. If you are lucky enough you will get approved in May itself but if not that it might be little late. In that case you might want to apply for Advance Parole. I think spending couple of hundred bucks on AP will be useful.
