When using AP to enter US, do you need to anything stamped on passport

Hi,

My family is planning to go to India and use AP to enter US when they return back. Does she need to get anything stamped on her passport from INS before leaving US for vacation, so that she can use it re-entering the cournty. As far as I know, she can use her AP papers to re-enter the country.

I concur with milli... My wife came back on AP. Be prepared for secondary inspection though.

Make sure A# on your AP is same as A# on your 485 receipt.

I had this problem with my AP. I did not notice until the Immigration
officer at the port of entry told me. Fortunately I had my I-485
receipt copy with me. He corrected the A# on my AP by hand and told
me to carry 485 receipt with AP.

The first time that you come back on an AP, the officer at the post will ask you a few questions like Name, Name of the Primary Applicant, Date of birth, SSN etc. to establish that you are indeed the person that you claim you are. Pretty painless. Then they will enter you into the system as having entered on AP and stamp your passport. The I-94 will have a stamp valid for one year even though you are supposed to get it for a indefinite period. They will retain one copy of your AP. If you have only one copy make sure you make a photocopy.
