Hello,
When do u have to join the employer who has filed for your green card during the green card process? Like presently i work for ABC company throught there H1 and company XYZ has applied for my green card and my labour already got approved and they are now filing for my !-140 ad 1-485. Can i wait till i get my green card approved to join this new company ? Please advice as i am really confused as to wht to do

GC is for future employement. Always.

GC is always for future employment. So you can join the company after GC is approved. Most of the employers won't like to file GC if the employee is not on payroll. That is just to exploit the employee.

If you and future employer have good understanding, you can wait to join them until GC is approved.

Thanks a lot for replying to my question. Now for how long do i have to work for this employer. I have a good understanding with this employer so i dont see any issues regarding him revoking my green card process at any stage.
the reason I am asking this is because at present i work for a different company on a permanent basis and i dont want to leave this job. so i was thinking of taking a leave for 2-3 months from this employer to join the one who filed for my green card and then come back to this job.
I know this sounds confusing but i really need all ur peoples help so that i can make a right choice here
