Hi Ya'll!
I'm a 5 year LPR in the process of getting my citizenship. Currently my case is pending for interview and is schedule for September 24. The next oath ceremony here in houston will be on October 21.
I recently got married and my wife is out of the country, her visa was cancelled during a pre-inspection when we were coming back from our honeymoon in Aruba.
When is more convenient to file the I-130 before or after I get my citizenship?
What is the processing time? Would it be shorter if we file for a K-3 visa?
I know that after I get my citizenship the I-130 will be upgraded? does it help filing it before I get my citizenship?
Thanks,

After you get your citizenship, send along a copy of your naturalization certificate, if you don't want to wait for your passport. It is always mentioned that making copies if discouraged, but you don't want to send your original to USCIS:eek: Make a copy before you apply for your passport, mail the passport application on the same day you mail 130 for next day service. It doesn't help filing it before you get your citizenship, it will cause you additional time to send them proof that you a USC and you want an upgrade. It is best to send it as a USC, so you can have immediate priority.

Sorry that you couldn't continue having a honey in the moon back here in the US. It must have been terrible to separate young couple who are longing for warm sheets together...:p
