Background:

I am currently on L1 visa (i-94 valid until March 1st 2010). I am going to get Conditional GC probably around March 25th 2010.

I still didn't received EAD .. may be before march 1st 2010.

Question

Can i remove restrictions with EAD ? I have applied couple of jobs.. i may get a job to join before Mar 25th so I would like to know if i can remove restrictions with EAD so that I can commit a date to employer.

Thanks

You need to wait for the GC before you can remove the employment restriction from the Social Security card. However, with the EAD, you can work for anybody who will hire you. The employment restriction on the SSN card doesn't stop you from working for them; the EAD itself is a type of work authorization which the SS card is referring to.

However, some employers are uninformed and may give you problems because of the SSN restriction on the card, so when you get the job you should only show the EAD. If you show the EAD they are not supposed to ask to see the SS card, although you still have to tell them what your SSN is.
